‘Crazy Stupid Love’ Directing Duo Glenn Ficarra And John Requa To Direct ‘Misadventure’ For Sony
EXCLUSIVE: Crazy Stupid Love directing duo, Glenn Ficarra and John Requa are returning to their roots as the two have come on to direct the Sony pic Misadventure. Sources close to the project say it is very early development with Jimmy Miller producing. Ficarra and Requa will exec produce alongside their Zaftig Films producing partner Charlie Gogolak.
While plot details are unknown at this time, sources close to the project say the film is in the vein of Crazy Stupid Love, the rom com starring Steve Carrell, Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone and Julianne Moore which helped launch the duos directing career. Mark Hammer penned the script.

Even though the film is in early development, early word around town is the script features several great roles and once pre-production ramps up, the project could entice some high-profile talent.
While this film marks Ficarra and Requa’s first feature directing job since 2016, the duo has been busy on the writing side as well as working on some high-profile TV shows. The duo recently directed the Apple limited series WeCrashed starring Jared Leto and Anne Hathaway as well as the Paramount Plus series Rabbit Hole starring Kiefer Sutherland. They had also been involved in the hit NBC series This Is Us, reuniting with their Crazy Stupid Love scribe Dan Fogelman.
Hammer most recently penned the Amazon Studios action comedy Shotgun Wedding.
Ficarra & Requa are represented by CAA and Jeff Frankel at McKuin Frankel Whitehead. Hammer is repped by UTA and Think Tank Management.
