Creative Arts Emmy Awards Night 2: ‘Stranger Things’ & ‘Westworld’ Lead Way – Full List Of Winners

The second night of the two-part Creative Arts Emmy Awards tonight featured what might be a hint of things to come next week at the Primetime Emmys, with big shows like HBO’s Westworld, Veep, Big Little Lies and The Night Of and Netflix’s Stranger Things and The Crown racking up multiple wins at the Microsoft Theatre in downtown Los Angeles.

The night also saw high-profile wins for two Saturday Night Live hosts — Melissa McCarthy and Dave Chappelle — in the guest actress and actor categories. Chalk up two wins for SNL, which tied for the most overall nominations this year with 22 along with Westworld.

On the drama side, guest wins went to Alexis Bledel for Hulu’s breakout The Handmaid’s Tale and This Is Us‘ Gerald McRaney, his first Emmy nom and win at age 70.

But it was a pair of newbies went toe-to-toe Sunday: Netflix’s Stranger Things, which has a whopping 18 noms overall this year, and Westworld. Both now have five wins going into next weekend’s Primetime Emmys ceremony as does veteran SNL.

HBO has the most wins for a network after the two-night Creative Arts phase with 19 so far, with Netflix nipping behind with 16. NBC is the next closest in wins with nine.

Here’s how it went down tonight:

5:01 PM: Tom Hanks coming onstage to kick things off: “I guess next week they’ll be giving the Not Nearly As Creative Arts Emmys away,” he says. Hanks salutes all the categories then adds also “that underpaid person who has not taken his earpiece out of his ear for six weeks who brings me a breakfast burrito whenever I damn well want.”
