Crews Clear Debris From Roads as Hurricane Beryl Pummels Jamaican Coast

Heavy rain pelted the southern Jamaican coast as Hurricane Beryl slammed the island on Wednesday, July 3.

Footage released by Jamaica’s Constabulary Force, shows cleanup crews clearing fallen branches from Stony Hill Road in Golden Spring.

According to the National Hurricane Center, the eyewall of the Category 4 hurricane was brushing the south coast of Jamaica on Wednesday afternoon.

An evacuation order was in effect on Wednesday for areas prone to floods or landslides, or near sea level, gullies, or waterways, Prime Minister Andrew Holness announced on Wednesday. Credit: Jamaica Constabulary Force via Storyful
