Crews Continue Cleanup After MTA Bus Crashes Into Brooklyn Building

A Metropolitan Transportation Authority bus crashed into an apartment building in Brooklyn, New York, on Monday, June 7, injuring at least 16 people and rendering the building uninhabitable, local media reported.

The New York City Fire Department said that out of the 16 people injured, 13 were transported to area hospitals. No injuries were life-threatening.

According to local news reports, inspectors and engineers with the Department of Buildings said the structural stability of the building was compromised by the collision and the building is no longer safe to occupy.

Evelien de Vogel filmed this footage on Tuesday that shows the area roped off with police tape and a wooden structure erected near the scene of the crash.

The bus was traveling southbound on Bedford Avenue when the driver lost control and jumped the curb, crashing into the building, local media reported. No one was injured inside the building, reports said. Credit: Evelien de Vogel via Storyful
