'The Crown' to recreate controversial Diana 'Panorama' interview scenes
The Crown has recreated scenes from Princess Diana's controversial Panorama interview which the Royal Family had recently asked never to be aired again in a four-minute segment for its new series.
Netflix will begin streaming season five of the drama about the Royal Family on 9 November and will include a segment about Diana's interview with Martin Bashir, showing other royals reacting to watching it.

Last year, a report by Lord Dyson concluded the BBC covered up “deceitful behaviour” by Bashir to secure the meeting and led to a call from the then-Duke of Cambridge, William, for it never to be aired again.

According to The Sun, a four minute and 23 second segment will show Elizabeth Debicki as Diana referencing her "crowded" marriage.
Other scenes will show Charles - played by Dominic West - shouting and swearing at the TV, and a young William watching his mother's interview as a pupil at Eton.

A spokeswoman for Netflix said: “Season five of The Crown will dramatise events surrounding the Panorama interview, given the pivotal part it played during the time period the series covers.
“It will reflect what we now know about how the interview was obtained and how Diana was treated. The interview is not recreated in full.”
Debicki said of Diana agreeing to the interview: “My understanding of why she would choose to do it was an attempt to control a narrative that felt like it was otherwise spiralling out of her control.
“If you can tell your own story in that situation, perhaps people will understand what you have been through and will be more likely to empathise with you, and they might understand why you may need to break away from certain systems and why you may need more freedom than you’ve been given.”
Debicki, 32, added that her portrayal of Diana’s famous line “there were three of us in this marriage” is “as close as possible” to the real interview.
The Crown season 5 begins streaming on Netflix on 9 November.
