Jamie Lee Curtis has confirmed that filming on her return to the Halloween franchise has wrapped.

The actress will reprise her iconic role of Laurie Strode in the upcoming direct sequel to the 1978 original, promising that it's going to be "terrifying". Well, we expect nothing less.

Taking to Instagram to post a photo of herself alongside co-stars Judy Greer and Andi Matichak – who will play her daughter and granddaughter, respectively – Jamie wrote on February 16: "Wrapping things up here in Haddonfield."

"Three generations of strong, striped, Strode women. These two @missjudygreer @andimatichak brought it ALL to their work on this terrifying revisit of @halloweenmovie #halloweenmovie @marinelayer."

It comes a few weeks after the star's first-look in-character was unveiled, as shooting on the project began.

While fans are no doubt excited to know that Jamie will be returning to the role that undoubtedly made her name, she's not the only original star coming back to frighten a new generation via the horror franchise.

Original Michael Myers actor Nick Castle will also be part of the cast, so we're expecting it to be extra scary.

The Halloween reboot's screenplay has been penned by David Gordon Green and Danny McBride, with Green also directing the movie.

And if you're worried that the movie won't be faithful to the original, have heart. Original director John Carpenter is acting as a consultant, as well as writing the score and executive producing.

"38 years after the original Halloween, I'm going to help to try to make the 10th sequel the scariest of them all," he vowed.

Halloween will be released in cinemas on October 19, 2018.
