Shoppers at a Newport Tesco supermarket were treated to free goodies when they purchased a copy of the South Wales Argus on Friday (June 28).

The South Wales Argus joined forces with the Tesco Extra store on Spytty Road to give everyone who purchased a copy of our newspaper from their promotional stand a scrumptious pack of Tesco doughnuts.

Customers could pick from a choice of jam, custard or ring doughnuts, with the traditional jam doughnut seems to be by far the most popular option.

Gwyn Roberts, promotions manager for Newsquest in Wales and Herefordshire, which publishes the Argus, said: "This is one of many promotions that the South Wales Argus promotions team has carried out and will be carrying out over the summer.

"Don’t forget to keep looking in the paper or keep an eye on social media for announcements on where we will be popping up next."
