Cyclist, 18, 'stable' in Royal Stoke after Bentilee crash

A teenage cyclist is in a 'stable' condition in hospital this afternoon after being in collision with a car. The 18-year-old suffered 'serious injuries' following the collision with a Nissan Juke, on Beverley Drive, in Bentilee, at 2.55pm yesterday.

The cyclist was taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital by West Midlands Ambulance Service. The car driver was assessed at the scene and did not require hospital treatment.

Now Staffordshire Police are appealing for witnesses following the collision.

A police spokesman said: "We are appealing for information following a serious collision involving a cyclist and a Nissan Juke. The cyclist was taken to hospital. He is in a stable condition. The driver of the Juke, a woman, remained at the scene and helped officers with their enquiries."

Witnesses should call the police on 101, quoting incident number 411 of 12 May, or call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
