Cyclone Freddy Weakens to Severe Tropical Storm as It Reaches Mozambique

Cyclone Freddy weakened to a severe tropical storm on Friday, February 24, as it reached Mozambique.

The UK’s Met Office said Freddy hit land close to the town of Vilankulo. The Met Office said the storm would “become slow-moving as it weakens”, creating the “potential for severe flooding.”
