Cyriel Dessers says Rangers are the BEST team in Scotland as he throws down Treble gauntlet
Cyriel Dessers believes Rangers are the BEST side in the Premiership when they can find their rhythm.
The Ibrox outfit currently sit three points behind rivals Celtic after a poor run of form where they've dropped points against their foes as well as Ross County and Dundee in recent weeks.
Dessers - who was in a confident mood after bagging a brace in a 2-0 Scottish Cup semi-final win over Hearts this afternoon - reckons his side are the best in the division and have shown that over the course of the campaign. The Nigerian does accept that the Light Blues have deserved criticism in past results but he does feel, at the core of the campaign, that Gers are the best.
And he insists that if they can rediscover that form, they'll prove it and use that momentum to potentially win the league title.
"If you look at the last few months we've shown what we're capable of and I think it's just trying to get the vibe back," he told BBC Sportsound. "If we can find that rhythm back then I think we're the best team in the league and hopefully we can show that in the next games. It's not only us 11 or 15 players on the pitch, it will be with everybody together, players, staff, fans, everybody in and around the club, and I think altogether we can do this."
On the title race coming to a conclusion, Dessers went on: "We have six more games and everything to play for. I think we have to (think of it as) a new league starting next weekend. We know what we have to do to go and win the title and I think we've got everything to do that as well. Hopefully we can execute that on the pitch.
"Obviously the pressure is rising after the week we had and then to do it in the big moments like today at Hampden against a very good team - they gave us some difficulties today - we can be happy with the result and performance and we can look with confidence for the next games."
