A dad-of-three has explained how he earned an impressive £7K in a matter of weeks thanks to starting up a 'side hustle'. Taj, 27, was once juggling three jobs and was struggling to spend enough time with his three children.

During the day he would go to work as a tradesman, whether that be painting walls or laying foundations. When night came around, he would get paid as a civil engineer.

The 27-year-old says he would often end up sleeping in his car between jobs. When it all got too much, Taj decided he needed to make some changes and started pursuing his dream of being his own boss.

Taj, from Islington, went on to join Airtasker, a local services marketplace that connects people and businesses who need work done with people who want to work. He started by completing simple tasks, like unblocking toilets.

He went on to apply for more tasks to boost his skills and earn more money. After completing several 'handyperson' and decorating tasks, Taj soon built up his profile.

Now, Taj says Airtasker is his main source of income. He has completed more than 140 tasks, with a string of five-star reviews.

The dad-of-three, now working for himself full-time, says he can earn up to £500 for a job. In three weeks, he once earned an incredible £7,000.

He says he has even worked on a painting job worth £2,500, decorating a six-bedroom house in Essex. He said: "I never expected the amount of work I’d be able to get.

"It has allowed me to earn the same amount of money but work less, meaning I can spend more time with my children and earn more money to support my family. The money covers bills and also allows me to save up for my family’s dream of moving to Australia in the next year."
