My Dad the Bounty Hunter Cancelled at Netflix After 2 Seasons

Well, this is one lousy Father’s Day gift for Terry Hendrix aka Sabo Brok.

Netflix has cancelled My Dad the Bounty Hunter after two seasons, the animated series’ co-creator, Everett Downing Jr., told Whats-on-Netflix.com.

The action-comedy followed Lisa and Sean, close-knit siblings who stowed away on their dad’s latest work trip, hoping to finally get some quality time together. Little did they know, Dad has been keeping a secret from them — he’s actually the toughest bounty hunter in the galaxy.

The voice cast included Laz Alonso (The Boys) as Dad/Terry/Sabo Brok, Yvonne Orji (Insecure) as his wife Tess, and Priah Ferguson (Stranger Things) and Jecobi Swain (Home Economics) as siblings Lisa and Sean.

The series’ 10-episode Season 1 dropped in February 2023, followed by a nine-episode Season 2 that August.

“I feel extremely fortunate to have been able to work with such an incredible team of partners and artists,” Downing Jr. told Whats-on-Netflix.com. “It’s so unreal watching your ideas come to life! Everyone who worked on the show fell in love with Terry, Tess, Lisa, Sean, and the entire cast of quirky, wild, and crazy characters. Who knows, maybe I’ll be able to revisit this world again someday. For now, these characters and stories will be living rent-free in my heart for the rest of my life.”
