Dakota Johnson has announced her new role as investor and co-creative director of a sexual wellness brand.

The Hollywood star – known for playing Anastasia Steele in the steamy Fifty Shades Of Grey films – said she teamed up with Maude because “sexual wellness is a fundamental human right” and she hopes to help make it a part of people’s everyday routine.

The brand, which was launched in 2018, is known for products such as tasteful vibrators, massage oils and all-natural condoms.

Johnson, 31, told Vogue: “Consensual sex and intimate pleasure is self-care for all bodies.

“Every human should have access to quality sexual products regardless of their gender, adult age, or sexuality.”

The actor, who is the daughter of film stars Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith, said that people should take care of the sexual side of their bodies in the same way that they take care of things like nutrition and exercise.

“Sex is important and special, and should be treated as such,” she said.

Referring to sex as “the most intimate thing humans can do”, the actor said that she would love to see a world where people “become non-judgmental and respectful” of sex and their bodies and also learn how to give themselves and their partners the proper care and attention.

Johnson found fame playing Steele opposite Jamie Dornan’s Christian Grey in the Fifty Shades trilogy based on EL James’ erotic books.

Her other films include 21 Jump Street and The Peanut Butter Falcon.
