Holly Willoughby is odds-on favourite to host Dancing On Ice despite her This Morning exit.

The presenter has fronted the ice-skating competition for several years but after she stepped down from This Morning in October, fans have been wondering if she’ll be returning to the rink.

However, bookmaker William Hill has said she has odds of 1/4 to return to her hosting duties for the upcoming 2024 series, which is expected to start in January.

And it seems she is likely to be hosting with Stephen Mulhern, who is 1/10 to take over from Phillip Schofield.

Other names in the mix include Josie Gibson, Rochelle Humes, Alison Hammond and Christine Lampard.

Next Dancing On Ice host odds:

  • Stephen Mulhern 1/10

  • Holly Willoughby 1/4

  • Josie Gibson 5/1

  • Rochelle Humes 8/1

  • Alison Hammond 8/1

  • Christine Lampard 8/1

William Hill spokesperson Lee Phelps said: “There certainly seems to be a sense of apprehension among the Dancing On Ice bosses as to who will present the upcoming January series, but our market suggests the ITV executives need not worry about host Holly Willoughby’s chances of returning to the screens.

“Willoughby is heavily fancied at 1/4 to resume her hosting duties when the new series kicks off in a few weeks’ time, with Stephen Mulhern (1/10) the likeliest candidate to replace Phillip Schofield as her presenting partner.”

Schofield and Willoughby started hosting the ITV ice-skating competition in 2006, and they were also presenting partners on This Morning.

However, this year saw Schofield fall from grace amid a scandal that saw him admitting to an “unwise but not illegal” affair with a much younger male colleague. He left This Morning, later saying in an interview with the BBC that his TV career was “over”.

Willoughby carried on hosting This Morning with several different co-hosts standing in, and it was widely thought that she’d present Dancing On Ice as usual.

However, in October she said that she was waving goodbye to the programme after 14 years after a man was charged in relation to an alleged plot to kidnap and murder her.

The move raised a question over whether she would be back on Dancing On Ice.

Is Stephen Mulhern taking over?

After Schofield’s scandal, talk turned to who might replace him on the ice.

Dermot O'Leary, Rylan and Ben Shephard were among the TV stars mentioned, but Mulhern quickly emerged as the favourite.

Then in October he confirmed he was in talks to take over as the new host.

The star – who previously covered for Schofield when he was off with Covid – told MailOnline: "We are talking about it, but I promise you now that nothing is confirmed but if it happens, it will be absolutely amazing... if it doesn't, look, it doesn't.

“I promise you I would tell you if we had it confirmed at this point."

Ricky Norwood, Lou Sanders, Miles Nazaire, Amber Davies, Greg Rutherford, Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards and Ricky Hatton will also be taking part.
