Dancing On Ice judge Oti Mabuse has told Ekin-Su Culculoglu to ignore the critics and stay sexy.

The Love Island winner came under fire for her first skate of the series where she dressed in a Britney Spears-style see-through bodysuit with sparkly knickers.

Her costume prompted more than 100 Ofcom complaints and this week she returned to the ITV1 show to skate to a Sound of Music routine in a high-necked dress and short blonde wig.

After the performance, host Holly Willoughby commented on the dramatic turn around from Britney to Maria, and Culculoglu answered: "I mean, if it's a character I can play, I can do it."

But in the judges' comments, former Strictly Come Dancing pro Mabuse came out in support of the star, telling her to stay sexy.

Mabuse said: "I want you to stay true to yourself because you're such a beautiful young girl. Remember that, like it's not a bad thing to be sexy, it's a power that we as women have."

The crowd cheered at Mabuse's comments, but viewers were not sure about Culculoglu's new look for the show.

One person tweeted: "Wow! Didn’t even recognise Ekin-Su just then!"

Another person commented: "Someone in the costume department really hates Ekin-Su , that wig ! Shocking"

Someone else wrote: "Can’t believe they made Ekin-Su dress like that, as if the poor woman hadn’t already been shamed enough last week for daring to be sexy"

Another viewer commented: "Ekin-Su giving Cersei Lannister vibes circa Season 6"

Last week, Mabuse told The Graham Norton Show: "It is so exciting to be part of a show that gets complaints!

"I thought the outfit was really, really sexy and risk-taking is what is important to me."

She added: "If I had that body, I would wear less all the time!”

Jayne Torvill also stuck up for her on Friday's Loose Women, saying of the complaints: "She was genuinely upset about it because she was quite surprised, but she wanted to put it right."
