“Dancing With the Stars” alum Harry Jowsey reveals skin cancer diagnosis: 'Very scary'

The former "Too Hot to Handle" contestant found out after his dermatologist examined a mole on his shoulder.

Dancing With the Stars alum Harry Jowsey has issued an important warning to his followers ahead of summer. 

The reality star was recently diagnosed with skin cancer on his shoulder, he announced in a TikTok Friday.

“There isn’t really an easy way to say this, but last week I went to the dermatologist to get my skin checked and they found some skin cancer on me,” Jowsey said. “I’m gonna be all good. Everything’s gonna be okay.”

The 26-year-old former Too Hot to Handle contestant said he decided to make a video to encourage others to look after their skin because “summer is around the corner.”

"Please wear sunscreen," he said. "Please wear it. Please go get your skin checked. If you're a freckly little frog like me, go get a mole map and get your body checked because you never know."

Jowsey added that he’d had the spot on his shoulder for “like a year or two” and had “no idea” that it was cancerous. “I just wanna save and protect one of you guys out there,” he said. “So go get your skin checked, wear your sunscreen, and be a little bit more responsible, because that’s what I’ve gotta do now, and it’s very scary.”

He concluded his message, “Anyway, love you guys. Stay safe.”

In the post’s comments section, several of Jowsey’s fans shared their support as well as their own stories to help raise awareness.

His DWTS partner, Rylee Arnold, wrote, “So glad you’re okay. Sending all the love!!!”

Vanderpump Rules star Ariana Madix, who competed alongside Jowsey on season 32 of DWTS, called herself and Jowsey “melanoma siblings” in her own comment. “So scary, but really glad you are ok,” she wrote, “and yes, sunscreen [is] so important, and skin checks.”

Another user wrote, “It happened to me too. The surgery is intense.” To which Jowsey responded, “I go on Tuesday.”

Jowsey made it all the way to week 9 of Dancing With the Stars before he was eliminated. Marvel star Xochitl Gomez won the competition that season alongside her show partner, Val Chmerkovskiy.
