Daniel Peretz a Celtic loan transfer 'target' with 7 clubs in battle for Bayern Munich's Israeli keeper

Celtic have reportedly "enquired" about the availability of Bayern Munich goalkeeper Daniel Peretz this summer - with SIX other clubs also chasing him.

The Scottish Premiership champions are in dire need of a new No. 1 this summer after Joe Hart retired at the end of the campaign - and the Israel international has been floated as a potential recruit this summer for Brendan Rodgers side as he looks to get his side ready for the Champions League group stage. The 23-year-old signed from Maccabi Tel Aviv last summer but has failed to challenge Manuel Neuer for a starting spot at the Bundesliga giants.

After just two appearances last season, German outlet BILD claim Bayern open to allowing the goalkeeper to leave this summer in search of first-team football. The club are set to be looking to loan the player out rather than green light a permanent deal with both 38-year-old Neuer and second-choice Sven Ulreich, 35, out of contract next summer.

Celtic are said to have joined Union Berlin, Anderlecht, FC Copenhagen, Nottingham Forest, Real Betis and Villarreal in "enquiring about a potential deal." Bayern are "happy with his development" this season but want Peretz to get regular game time.

Peretz was handed his Bundesliga debut in the final game of the season - replacing Neuer for a 16-minute cameo in the win over Wolfsburg. Speaking at full-time, the Bayern legend was full of praise for the understudy stating: "That was agreed upfront. We agreed if the result allows it we'll do it. Daniel gave the team so much over the entire season. He deserved to get the minutes today. We're all happy Dani was on the pitch today."

Peretz's international team-mate Liel Abada left Celtic last season to join Charlotte FC in America after the winger faced pressure due to some fans' show of support for Palestinian people.
