Thankfully, being on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat isn’t written into the contracts to promote his movies, because Dan is firmly against having any open presence on social media.

Furthermore, the 27-year-old star thinks actors are completely mad to want to share details of their private lives to millions of fans every day. But in an interview with the New York Times TimesTalk for his new movie Imperium, he admitted he has access to Twitter.

Hmmmm… So, Dan has a secret account?

He explained: “I think Twitter is great for certain things and certain people, there are people I really enjoy reading on Twitter. But I don’t know why anyone in my position would ever be on it.“

Privacy is a big deal for the actor, who, funnily enough, is currently starring in an off-Broadway play aptly titled Privacy. Dan even managed to avoid using email until 2013, and has only accessed it since to check news relating to his Fantasy Football team.

Asked about his views on technology, he said: “I got email three years ago. I managed to not because I loved not having it, and then I had to get it cause I joined a fantasy football league.”

Meanwhile, Dan revealed which Harry Potter movie was his favourite to make.

He said: “I probably liked making maybe the fifth one the best, which is not everyone’s favorite one but it was for me. It was the most I ever got to work with Gary [Oldman], who played Sirius, and it was a time that I felt like I was getting better at doing it.“
