What did you miss?

Danny Dyer tickled This Morning viewers as he teased John Torode about his cooking, complaining that his peas were “a bit hard”.

EastEnders star Dyer was a guest on the ITV show on Thursday (21 March), and MasterChef star Torode was also in the studio for the cooking segment. Dyer was in the background as Torode whipped up a roast chicken and joined hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard to sample some when it was ready.

But he couldn’t resist weighing in on Torode’s dish – leaving the cook looking surprised.

What, how, and why?

Torode was showing the presenters how to make a “Spring roast chicken” stuffed with lemon and crème fraiche and served with potatoes and peas. Shephard invited Dyer to come along for a taste and he eagerly tucked in, although he said he thought the sauce looked “filthy”.

“How is it?” Deeley asked, and Dyer replied: “Peas are a bit hard.”

“I like a bit of an Al dente pea,” Shephard remarked. Looked confused, Torode asked: “What do you mean the peas are hard?” “Have a bang on one of those peas John, honestly,” Dyer said, pointing at the plate.

The chef sampled the veg himself and insisted: “They are perfect!”

Dyer, who is well known to TV viewers as Albert Square’s Mick Carter, then explained that he preferred a mushy pea.

When the hosts commented on how much they loved Torode’s sauce, Dyer then quipped: “Not for me.” “I’m joking John!” he added, as the chef pretended to be outraged.

Another wrote: “Danny Dyer trying what John Torode just cooked on This Morning! He said the sauce looked filthy (it was crème fraiche and it looked awful to be fair) then he said the peas are a bit hard! Have a bang on one of them peas! Then he goes yeah that sauce ain’t for me!”
