Rucker has branched out from the band, becoming a country music star and hosting the CMAs. He’s also done some acting guest spots.

Hootie & The Blowfish’s hits include Hold My Hand, Only Wanna Be with You, and Let Her Cry.

Rucker was booked in his native Williamson County in connection with three misdemeanor charges, two of them drug-related, reports indicate.

The counts include simple possession/casual exchange of a controlled substance, and a vehicle registration violation.

Rucker bonded out and was released around 11 a.m. today. Rucker’s bond was set at $10,500.

Rucker was involved in another drug-related controversy more than two years ago. His ex-girlfriend, Kate Quigley, had been hospitalized in critical condition after a nearly-fatal overdose that took the lives of three other people. Rucker commented on the incident while on the red carpet of the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas.

Quigley was angered that Rucker commented without bothering to call her.
