It will be almost two weeks until weather experts are forecasting properly summery weather. According to forecasters from the BBC, Sunday, June 24, and Monday, June 25, are both expected to hit highs of 24C but with a risk of rain and thundery showers thrown in alongside sunny spells on the Monday.

But up until then it will feel like we’re in a perpetual state of April showers as in the 10 days leading up to June 24, it will be pouring or thundering for nine of them, according to the latest forecasts. This is corroborated by the Met Office’s forecast, which runs from June 15 to June 24.

The long term Met Office forecast reads: “During the first weekend of this period, a mixture of sunny spells and showers is likely across the majority of the UK. Some of the showers are expected to be heavy and could be accompanied by thunder." It continues: “Temperatures will probably be slightly below normal for the time of year. Into the following week, similar conditions are most probable at first with further showers.”
