Dave and Central Cee have teamed up for a brand new track, ‘Sprinter’.

In the collaborative single, which is Dave‘s first release of 2023, the rappers trade verses over softly strummed guitar chords and chunky percussion. They previously appeared together on a 2016 remix of AJ Tracey‘s ‘Spirit Bomb’, but ‘Sprinter’ marks their first solo collaboration.

Central Cee first teased the track in March, sharing a screenshot of an iMessage conversation between him and Dave to his Instagram story in which Dave sent him an audio file. The ‘Starlight’ rapper was tagged in a caption which read ‘Oh no’.

The music video was filmed in London and the south of France and features a cameo from Nigerian born artist Slawn.

Central Cee will be performing on the Other Stage at Glastonbury later this month. He is also set to appear on the Main Stage at this year’s Reading + Leeds, which Dave headlined last year, and the Governors’ Ball in the US.

Dave’s last release was the fan-favourite freestyle ‘My 24th Birthday’. He also embarked on an arena tour last year which made stops across the UK, Europe and North America, and included two sold-out nights at London’s O2 Arena.

Cee released his chart-topping mixtape 23 at the beginning of 2022, later following it up with the singles ‘Let Go’ and ‘Doja’, the latter of which became his most streamed song to date with over 400 million plays and counting. He also became the first UK artist to have the most streamed hip hop
track globally on Spotify in one week. Earlier this year, he released another standalone single, ‘Me And You’.
