Dave Myers' wife Lilliana Orzac has opened up about life after the Hairy Bikers star's death in a heartbreaking post as she attempts to move on.

The much-loved chef died in February at just 66-years-old with Lilliana, his best pal Si King, 57, and his family at his bedside. It came after Dave first announced he was receiving treatment for cancer in May 2022.

Over the last few years he had been undergoing treatment and had returned to filming last year for The Hairy Bikers Go West. He did not specify what type of cancer he had been diagnosed with due to a fear people would become amateur doctors, Google the disease and offer him advice.

Lilliana has now spoken of what it has been like since him, heartbreakingly admitting that life feels "empty and sad", but vows to "laugh and love like Dave" and "move forward". She continued to say that she wouldn't let the grief make her "fall into illness" as he "wouldn't want that" for her. She also vowed to "experience life with him in her heart".

She wrote in a social media post: "Life stood still when I lost Dave. It still seems still, empty and sad. And I know it might seem too soon to even consider moving on. How can I move on from this wonderful, exhilarating, out of ordinary on so many levels, life that I shared with an extraordinary man? When he is everywhere and in everything around me?

"I tell you how... I MOVE FORWARD WITH HIM! He will always be part of me, I am who I am because of him, he helped me shape the last 20 years of my life. I am ME because of HIM."

She continued: "There is grief to go through, but I won't let that keep me stuck, or fall into illness... because he wouldn't want that for me! I plan to live my adventures and take him with me! Experience life with him in my heart! Make his impact on my life meaningful! Write my next chapters with the excitement and the joy he taught me life can be lived with!"

"Carry his zest for life with me! Laugh and love like Dave! Having Dave Days for the rest of my life! I'M MOVING FORWARD WITH HIM!"

Dave met his other half Lili while filming Hairy Bikers in Romania with Si for the BBC back in 2005. Speaking about his wife to the Mirror previously, Dave said: "It was love or rather lust at first sight. Not on her part probably! She was the manager of our hotel. As Lil showed us our rooms she was very serious, I said, 'Cor! She's gorgeous!' But Si thought she was scary."

The pair hit it off and got hitched six years later in Dave's hometown of Barrow, Cumbria, in 2011. They were joined by friends and family, including Si, who was his best man.

Reflecting on their wedding day, Dave joked to the Mirror: "I didn't propose - she's still waiting! There was all this kerfuffle about papers so we talked about it and decided we should get married to secure the relationship. We were dead sure it was right and her mum and dad were coming over so we did it. We did end up having 400 people there. It was an epic. It was off the cuff, it just grew."

The two became pen pals before they started a relationship. Dave added: "She's a strong woman and she's tough with me. If I'm in a mood, she'll tell me. She's smart and looks after our finances." Praising his wife for supporting him through his cancer treatment, he told MailOnline: "Human companionship and love have got me through. I have the most remarkable wife, Liliana, who's been my rock every bloody step of the way on this terrible journey."

Dave once confessed that he had a 'major regret' over not having children and starting a family, but when he met Lili, he became part of theirs. Speaking of his delight at becoming a stepfather, Dave said: "A major regret of mine for a long time had been not having children. When I married Lil, I had this ready-made family with two stepchildren."
