David Beckham has quashed rumours of a potential Spice Girls reunion. The 49-year-old former football star dismissed growing speculation that the iconic Nineties girl group, which included his wife Victoria Beckham famously known as Posh Spice, were set to reunite for another tour.

This follows their surprise performance at Victoria's 50th birthday party back in April. When asked by Variety about the possibility of them hitting the stage together once again, David said: "Unfortunately, that's not happening."

Referring to the impromptu Spice Girls' gig at Victoria's birthday celebration, he added: "Victoria was so pleased to see the girls, and it was a massive part of her life, the girls, but obviously, all the girls have got their own things going on."

He went on to add: "They will do certain things together at certain times." The former Manchester United player further emphasised his wife's hectic schedule, stating: "If anyone's busier than me, it's her."

Victoria, along with her ex-bandmates Geri Halliwell, 51, Mel C, 50, Mel B, 49, and Emma Bunton, 48, were caught on camera by David singing 'Stop', their hit single from 1998, at her birthday bash in London.

Commenting on the viral clip sparking hopes of a comeback tour among fans, Beckham said: "I know it's what people want, but in all honesty, I think I was the most excited of anyone."

Expressing his awe at seeing "all of the girls in one room" again, he said: "All of the girls haven't been on a stage together for over 15 years. So, to have them all there, to have them all up on stage, to have our youngest son playing guitar?."

Mel B fuelled speculation of a Spice Girls comeback after sharing David's video alongside the caption: "#tourdatescomingsoon". She had also dropped hints about a possible reunion tour to celebrate the band's 30th anniversary.

Rising to stardom in the 90s, the Spice Girls turned into one of the most successful female pop groups ever. They split up in 2000, and although they last performed as a quintet at the London Olympics in 2012, they went on tour without Victoria in 2019.
