David Beckham has been told the same thing by fans as he was seen getting his hands dirty. The former footballer branded himself 'Gardener Dave' as he got to work in the garden of one of his and wife Victoria's UK homes.

Wearing a pair of jeans, a brown top and a flat cap, David, 49, was seen being given tips by fashion designer Victoria, 50, as he tried to plant a rose shrub, much to the amusement of his fans.

In one video, the father of four said to the camera: "The Queen of Sweden - English shrub rose. Or should it not be - English rose shrub?" Captioning pictures and videos of his efforts to his millions of followers, David said: "Gardner Dave [rose emoji]. Thanks for the tips @victoriabeckham."

Meanwhile, Victoria also shared a video to her own Instagram Story and could be heard saying: "OK, so it's just a regular Saturday in the country. David is doing a bit of gardening..." She continued: "You look good!" before hysterically zooming in on David's derriere as he got to work.

But responding to David's post, fans couldn't help but be distracted by the fact he was barefoot while digging. @445hasarrived said: "Never seen any one using a shovel in bare feet!!!" @yudittar replied: "He is grounding at the same time!" @margaret_twitchings wrote: "It’s easier to dig with shoes on David!"

@simplybyarrangement joked: "I’m sure those feet are well insured." @dfromexico commented: "I hope he’s being careful doing that with no shoes on. Be careful David." @lee.j.martin13 feared: "Shovel and barefoot……. I can see a few toes disappearing today."

However, others were distracted for a different reason as they spotted David's beverage of choice while tending to his garden in the sun. @vickim_xo said: "The can of Stella." @hornsby_style posted: "It’s the can of Stella for me." @mum_on_the_wold typed: "Love the can of Stella." @mrsdykeey added: "Bare foot gardening with a can a Stella."

David has since returned to social media with another video from his sprawling garden after recognising his 'amateur' efforts with the rose bush. He explained in the clip that he'd taken some advice from some of his followers and was left saying 'who knew' when he was given a hack to perfectly remove the shrub from it's plastic box as he carried on with his neat planting.

"Thanks for the advice. Who knew [crying laughing emoji]," he wrote alongside the clip and it appears fans are ready for the former Manchester United and England star's gardening series.
