The third season of David Tennant and Michael Sheen's hit comedy Staged is finally heading to the BBC.

Season three first debuted on BritBox in November 2022, but it's now been confirmed that the six new episodes will arrive on BBC One and BBC iPlayer "very soon."

Tennant and Sheen, who play fictionalised versions of themselves on the show, are once again joined in the new season by real-life partners Georgia Tennant and Anna Lundberg, as well as writer/director Simon Evans.

The show's first season arrived back in 2020, following Tennant and Sheen as they tried to rehearse a play during lockdown. Season two arrived the following year and focused on the aftermath of the first season's success.

Season three follows the pair as they try to navigate life after lockdown, while Simon has a difficult time trying to get them to work on another project with him after they have a fallout.

The official synopsis continues: "But Christmas is approaching, and Simon hopes the warmth of the season might soften them to the idea of a radio version of a Christmas classic..."

In other Tennant and Sheen news, it was recently confirmed that season two of their Prime Video series Good Omens is heading to the streamer on July 28.
