David Beckham and wife Victoria have once again proved that their fashion choices are timeless, as the football legend shared a throwback in their iconic purple wedding outfits from 25 years ago.

The snap, which David captioned with "Look what we found..." followed by a laughing emoji, captures the couple hand-in-hand, sitting on thrones just like on their big day, sporting their timeless Antonio Berardi wedding outfits.

Victoria looks stunning in her purple gown with its striking red lining and bouquet, paired with silver strappy sandals, while David is dapper in a matching purple suit, complete with purple suede shoes and a corsage.

The post quickly drew admiration from fans, reports OK! as one fan gushed: "That's my royal family," and another chimed in with: "Going to tell my kids these are the Queen and King of England."

Others joined in the nostalgia, with one saying: "This is iconic," and another recalling: "When you bought @ok_mag that week just for the photos," referencing the coverage of the Beckham wedding.

David has humorously critiqued his wedding attire in the past, telling Radio 4's Desert Island Discs: "I look like the guys out of Dumb and Dumber when they went to that party and wore those ridiculous outfits. I even had a top hat in purple. Unbelievable. What was I thinking?"

The Beckham couple stunned their guests with their matching outfits for the first time on July 4, 1999, at their grand wedding in Luttrellstown Castle, Ireland.

The ceremony, rumoured to have cost a whopping half-a-million quid, saw baby Brooklyn, aged only four months then, take up the role of ring bearer and David's football pal, Gary Neville, stand as best man.

There were 29 exclusive invites extended to the key ceremony, including Spice Girls - Mel B, Mel C, and Emma Bunton, with more than 230 guests welcomed at the larger reception. Their first dance was to the classic Frank Sinatra's It Had to be You.

However, it seems that their iconic purple combo wasn't the only outfit change of the day. A young Victoria, 25, walked down the aisle wearing an ivory strapless Vera Wang gown and a flashy £10,000 crown, while her groom David, 24 at the time, rocked an ivory and cream suit for the ceremony.

Soon after, they changed into their purple ensembles, even matching their gear with baby Brooklyn, who was complete with his own little purple cowboy hat.

Over two decades of marriage later, the couple expanded their family with Romeo, 21, Cruz, 19, and Harper, 12, joining team Beckham. Earlier this year, Victoria opened up about the secrets behind their relationship during an Elle Magazine interview.

She said: "My husband is an inspiration to me. Do we look like the couple seen in the Netflix documentary? Yes. We like to have fun, chat, dance, drink. And laugh at each other. That's what it takes to be happy. I believe a lot in laughter, family and friendship. I realise that we have become a model. People like to see relationships that last."
