Davina McCall has shared that there is one reveal on The Masked Singer that had her jaw dropping - and left her in tears.

The former Big Brother host is back as a judge on the new series of the show, which sees celebs singing in huge colourful costumes as judges McCall, Jonathan Ross, Mo Gilligan and Rita Ora try and guess who they are. And in a teaser she is seen having a major reaction as one of the singers is unmasked.

What, how, and why?

The clip was aired on ITV’s This Morning, and showed McCall looking gripped as the singer took off their mask. “Who is it? Who is it? Who is it? Who is it?” she muttered as everyone waited to see who was inside the costume.

As the person was finally unveiled, she shrieked in surprise. The TV star, dressed in a short sparkly silver dress and towering heels, then tottered out from behind the desk and made her way to the stage.

McCall was quizzed about it by This Morning hosts Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond, who said: “You literally lose it, you absolutely lose it, I have no idea who this person is.”

“I cried!” McCall admitted, laughing that she had such high shoes on at the time that she struggled to make it to the stage. O’Leary suggested the contestant must have been someone that McCall knew pretty well to provoke such a reaction.

But she played her cards close to her chest, saying: “I can’t tell you… I was there for a minute going, ‘Can I? Can I run to the stage? I don’t care, I’m going!’ Because… it was the most beautiful thing. It was amazing.”

Davina McCall 'storms off'

While it isn’t clear whether she was referring to the same moment, McCall did recently tell The Sun that one of the reveals had her storming off stage. She said the judges had all met the person and were “kicking” themselves when they realised it was them.

“We all should have got them, all of us,” she said. “No excuses, really. I just couldn’t help myself storming off when I saw who the person was. There have been many people on the show who I have met in passing, but this was a real friend, someone I have known for years. It’s embarrassing. It was, I think, the greatest surprise I’ve ever had.”
