This month, Mullion will be buzzing with a day of fun, entertainment and community spirit.

On Saturday, July 27 the Mullion Extravaganza Village Fete will return for its third year and the first time at St Mellanus Park. This year, the event will support the Sunshine (Memory) Café, a local group providing vital services to the community.

The Church Bells will toll at 11.50 for 10 minutes to announce the event.

Starting at 12pm, a variety of activities and entertainment will take place throughout the afternoon. Enjoy a selection of stalls, the popular (and humorous) "Human Fruit Machine," a bouncy castle, and ice cream from Roskilly’s Farm, which is kindly offering ice cream at a special price.

Other attractions include Bowling for the Pig, Whack the Rat, Face Painting, Hook the Duck, Mini Pitch and Put, Coconut Shy, Tombola, Beat the Buzzer and of course, tea, coffee, cakes, a barbecue, and a licensed bar from the Old Inn. There will also be field games, races, a raffle and an auction hosted by Dicky Mint.

Entertainment will come from the Illumination Brass Band, who will be performing twice during the event.

As well as this, event organisers are inviting members of the public to don their most extravagant fancy dress for a chance to win a special prize. There will also be a fancy dress parade.

But the fun doesn't stop there.

The festivities continue into the evening with an exciting lineup. For £5 (adults) and £2 (accompanied under 16s), you can enjoy a live Ceilidh in the marquee.

Doors open at 7pm with Ceilidh's band “The Rosevilles” providing the soundtrack for a night of barn dancing and fun. A caller will guide dancers through the steps and the band will perform two 50-minute sets with a 20-minute interval.

Tickets can be purchased on the night or in advance from the Mounts Bay or Old Inn.

Event organisers have shared a joint comment on the upcoming event. They said: “We are so happy that the community of Mullion have supported us for the last two years and we hope that this event will become an annual event for many years to come.”

Parking and Dog Information:

Parking is available at Atlantic Forge (£3, disabled and short stay) and Tremenhee (donations, long stay). Dogs are welcome to the event but must be kept on short leads, and owners are asked to pick up after them.
