It's date night at the 2024 Met Gala for Jessica Serfaty and Leonardo Maria Del Vecchio!

The engaged couple hit the Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 6 to attend the star-studded event. Their joint appearance marks their Met debut.

For the occasion, Serfaty, 33, wore a custom Dolce & Gabbana look. "Inspiration is Dolce & Gabbana garden in bloom. As our first Alta Moda show taking place in Taormina," the Dolce & Gabbana company shared in a statement with PEOPLE. "Perfect for Jessica, because both cape and dress, beautiful pieces from archive collections, come back to life on such a beauty."

The archive collection pieces included a silk organza dramatic cape embellished with flowers. "The cape features hand-embroidered flowers in perfect '50s style," the Italian luxury fashion house said in the statement.

As for the dress, it's "an original design from the spring/summer 2005 ready-to-wear collection, remade in a watermelon red silk chiffon with Swarovski crystal mesh details," the brand stated. It was originally worn by Gisele Bündchen.

Del Vecchio, 28, wore a double-breasted solaro. "And considering that he is launching the Ray-Ban Reverse during Met Gala, I've done it inside out so from the reddish side out, then inside I've made a special silk lining, one-off, with all the reverse Ray-Ban glasses drawn," the statement continued, adding that "the suit is not only aesthetically beautiful but a great story to tell."

The couple accessorized with Ray-Ban sunglasses. Del Vecchio wore the Ray-Ban Wayfarer Reverse while Serfaty wore the Ray-Ban Aviator Reverse. Sefaty's jewels were from Cartier.

Makeup and hair were done by Soo Park and Glen Coco, respectively.

Serfaty and Del Vecchio announced their engagement exclusively with PEOPLE in July 2023. Del Vecchio, who is the chief strategy officer for his family's eyewear group EssilorLuxottica (which owns Ray-Ban, Oakley, Sunglass Hut, and Persol and also makes eyewear for designer brands including Chanel and Prada), proposed at the Conca del Songo restaurant on Italy’s Amalfi coast with a yellow diamond.

Of the romantic moment, the Days of Our Lives actress said: "The week before Leo asked for my hand, we had been laughing about one another's past engagement stories."

"Poking fun at all the do’s and don’ts that come along with proposals," she continued. "I was completely taken by surprise when he dropped to one knee. I remember seeing the joy in Leo’s face when he couldn’t hold it in any longer. He teared up at the end. (Sorry Leo, but I had too!) It was spontaneous, exciting and beautiful."

The pair met in 2017 at the Cannes Film Festival.

"We were on a boat, and he was dancing. He is such a good dancer by the way! We briefly met," she recalled of their first meeting. "It wasn’t until a couple years later that we saw each other again. We spent five days along with friends laughing and dancing until the sun came up. That was the moment I knew something more was happening. I didn’t want to leave! "
