Daytime Emmy Nominations: ‘African Queens’ & Three Veteran Soaps Tie For Lead – Full List

All of the nominations are in for the 51st annual Daytime Emmy Awards, which will air live in June 7 on CBS and Paramount+. See the full list below.

African Queens: Njinga. Netflix’s docuseries about the warrior queen of Angola, is tied with three daytime drama staples — CBS’ The Bold and the Beautiful and The Young and the Restless and Peacock’s Days of Our Lives — with a dozen noms each. ABC stalwart General Hospital is next with 11.

The Kelly Clarkson Show leads the talkers with nine noms, ahead of The View with 7.

Some of the first time nods included Downey’s Dream Cars on Max (Best Lifestyle), Selena + Chef: Home for the Holidays on Food Network (Culinary Series); the Australian import Neighbours on Amazon Freevee (Daytime Drama) and Extraordinary Birder with Christian Cooper on Nat Geo (Travel, Adventure and Nature, Best Daytime Personality, non-daily).

The canceled Valerie’s Home Cooking featuring Valerie Bertinelli also received a nomination in Best Culinary category and Best Culinary host.

One of the more surprising nominations this year went to Eric Braeden, who earned his first nomination in 20 years for playing Victor Newman on The Young and the Restless. Part of the reason for his absence from the Emmy race in past years is that he routinely declined to submit himself for consideration. Braeden won his first and only Emmy for the soap in 1998.

The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences revealed noms in five key categories Thursday, and the rest rolled out this morning. The lifetime achievement honorees, hosts, presenters and Silver and Gold Circle honorees are TBA.

Among the changes to this years daytime categories, per NATAS: the Outstanding Younger Performer in a Daytime Drama and Outstanding Promotional Announcement races are gone; the Outstanding Writing for a Daytime Non-Fiction Series and Outstanding Writing for Daytime Non-Fiction Special have been merged into Outstanding Writing for a Daytime Non-Fiction Program; and the Daytime Program Host category has been split into two categories, Daytime Personality Daily and Daytime Personality Non-Daily.
