Peacefully in her own home on Wednesday 8th May at the age of 93 years. Devoted Grandmother of Robert, much loved Mother of late Graham Denton and Mother-in-law to Kath. Fond memories to many around the district from DENTONS TAXIS of New Mill, Mavis was a much loved character by all that knew her and will be dearly missed by all Family and Friends. It was Mavis' wish not to have a funeral but her ashes will be scattered with those of her late Husband Geoffrey Denton.

John Gallacher aged 82 years, the dearly loved husband of the late Marie, the much loved dad of Mark and Angela, dear grandad of Jordon and loved brother of Christine. A much loved mum to Andy, Justine, Dani, Alex and Ped and loving Mother-in-law to Lisa, Paddy, Richard, Ryan and Ann-Louise. Devoted Nanna of Dale, Aaron, Jake, Robin, Autumn and Aoife. Still beloved by Peter. Sandie was much loved by all that knew her and will be dearly missed by all of her Family and Friends. Sandie decided not to have a funeral and her ashes will be scattered amongst nature as per her wishes but those who wish to remember her are asked to plant something in their garden in her memory. Peter NORMAN

Peter passed away on the 9th May at home. He was a beloved father to Mark, grandparent to Adam and Levi and meant a lot to friends, neighbours and colleagues at St Stephen's, Gledholt MVC and Outlane Singers. Peter will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. A memorial service for Peter will be held at St Stephen's Church, Lindley at 2pm on Thursday 30th May, 2024 where all are welcome to attend. Suddenly but peacefully at home on the 29th April 2024, aged 80 years. Beloved wife and best friend of the late Robert William Place (Bill), beloved mother of the late David, and loving friend to many. Anne will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. It is with great sadness that the loving family of Heather Robinson shares the news of her passing on May 11th at The Huddersfield Royal infirmary. She was aged 63 and surrounded by her close family. Heather was a much-loved wife, mother, grandma, and sister. Beloved wife to Terry for 44 years, cherished mother to three children, Faye, Sophie and Joe and grandma to 6 young grandchildren; Nancy, Phoebe, Lily, Betsy, Lola and Evie. She is also survived by sisters Madeline and Jean who will miss her very much. Born on 16th February 1961 to parents Thomas and Dorothy King she was the youngest sibling of Robert, Madeline and Jean. Heather attended Colne valley high school before later excelling at an open University degree in History which she completed whilst raising three young children. She had a thirst for knowledge and keen ambition to learn. She turned her passion and talent for interior design into a career whilst also running various companies with husband Terry and travelled to many countries throughout her life. Her witty humour, laugh, love of music and dedication to her family will be sorely missed and her spirit will live on in those that knew her best. Family and friends are welcome to celebrate Heather's life at St James Parish Church, Slaithwaite on Friday 7th June at 11am, followed by a cremation for close friends and family at Huddersfield crematorium. A celebration of Heather's life will be held from 12 noon onwards at The Weavers Shed, Golcar. Dress code: Smart but does not have to be black, colour welcome. Family flowers only please.
