Death in Paradise star Joséphine Jobert will play a new detective in upcoming police drama Saint-Pierre.

The actor is best known to audiences for playing DS Florence Cassell in the hit BBC show, returning recently as a guest star for Ralf Little's exit in the season 13 finale.

Jobert will now play a different DS known as Deputy Police Chief Geneviève Archambault in Canadian series Saint-Pierre alongside Sex Education's James Purefoy and Allan Hawco of Jack Ryan fame.

"After the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary Inspector, Donny Fitzpatrick (Hawco), digs too deeply into a local politician’s nefarious activity, he is exiled to work in Saint-Pierre et Miquelon — the French Territory nestled in the Atlantic Ocean," teases the show synopsis (via Videoage).

"Fitz’s arrival disrupts the life of Deputy Chief Geneviève Archambault (Jobert), a Parisian transplant who is in Saint-Pierre for her own intriguing reasons.

Filming on the new series is currently underway in Saint-Pierre et Miquelon, France and St. John’s Newfoundland in Canada.

Saint-Pierre will consist of 10 hour-long episodes and is confirmed to broadcast on CBC and CBC Gem in winter 2025. Production company Fifth Season is also in charge of distributing the show globally.

A first look at Jobert in her new role was teased by co-star Hawco, who shared a photo of the two from the show on his Instagram. "The news is out… follow @saintpierreseries for more," reads the caption.

In a follow-up Instagram post, Hawco shared photos of the two together during CBC's 2024-25 season preview event where the show was officially announced.

Just last month it was revealed that Jobert has also been cast in a new AI surveillance drama titled Concordia. The Death in Paradise star will play the role of Mathilde in the series, which is set in a fictional city where AI "ensures a free and fair society."

Saint-Pierre will air on CBC and CBC Gem later in 2025.
