Death in Paradise's Tahj Miles, who captured the hearts of viewers as Marlon Pryce, has taken a step back as he gears up for the launch of his latest project.

Miles joined the cast during the 10th season of the tropical detective drama and quickly became a fan favourite with his portrayal of the mischievous Marlon, who was co-opted into the Youth Offenders Police team by Commissioner Selwyn Patterson (played by the esteemed Don Warrington).

Over three seasons, viewers witnessed Marlon's transformation from a petty criminal to a respected police officer. Earlier this year, his departure from the fictional Saint Marie left fans reaching for tissues as he embarked on a new chapter following his sister's success in Jamaica.

While Marlon's exit saddened fans, the return of JP Hooper, played by Tobi Bakare, added a poignant note to the touching send-off.

Despite his departure from the series, Tahj's agent has confirmed that the actor will soon return to our screens with his upcoming project 'Crosshatch', which is expected to premiere later this year, according to the Express.

On social media, Tahj offered a sneak peek of his future work, sharing promotional shots of 'Crosshatch' on Instagram and Twitter, accompanied by the caption: "Crosshatch. Coming soon."

The hint of new ventures has sparked a wave of excitement among his fans, with many flooding the comments section with messages of congratulations. One eager fan exclaimed: "That's really exciting Tahj. Well done! ".

One fan humorously encouraged, "Get back out in the Caribbean."

Another thrilled follower voiced their support by saying, "Excellent! Congratulations Tahj! Can't wait to see it."

After his final appearance on Death in Paradise, Tahj remained tight-lipped about why he left but shared a touching photo of himself holding a clapperboard on set, with the caption: "It's been real people, Marlon, out," accompanied by a heart emoji.

On Instagram, he reflected: "Senior Year. 4 years, 28 Eps and 3 specials. It's been real."

The void left by Marlon was quickly filled as Danny John-Jules reprised his role as Dwayne Myers, effortlessly rejoining the cast.

Ralf Little also said his goodbyes, with his character Neville Parker departing alongside Florence Cassell, played by Josephine Jobert, eliciting a bittersweet reaction from the audience at the end of the series.

Preparations for the new series and the Christmas special are already in progress, with former EastEnders star Don Gilet stepping in as the new DI.

Don Warrington, Danny John-Jules, Shantol Jackson, and Ginny Holder are also set to return to the beloved show.

Death in Paradise is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
