Deaths of man and woman linked as police in Berkshire launch murder investigation

A murder investigation has been launched after a woman was stabbed to death and a man's body was found by a railway line in Berkshire.

The woman, 56, was found with stab wounds inside a Lexus at the Flower's Hill junction of the A340 Tidmarsh Road near Pangbourne on Thursday, Thames Valley Police (TVP) said.

Police were called to the scene at around 5.45pm and the woman received medical attention but died at the scene.

Half an hour later, TVP and British Transport Police were alerted to the discovery of an 18-year-old man's body on a railway track near Pangbourne. He had died at the scene.

The victims are yet to be formally identified but their next of kin have been informed, a police spokesman said.

TVP believe the deaths are linked and they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incidents.
