Deaths Reported After IDF Raid in West Bank Camp

The Israel Defense Forces said they were looking into Palestinian reports that nine people were dead after a “counterterrorism operation to apprehend an Islamic Jihad terror squad in the Jenin Camp” early on January 26.

Haaretz and other outlets cited Palestinian sources as saying nine were dead. The IDF said at least “three terrorists were neutralized.”

The IDF posted footage and images from the raid to Twitter.

The IDF said its targets “were heavily involved in planning and executing multiple major terrorist attacks” and that security forces were fired upon.

The Palestinian health ministry said an elderly woman was among those killed, according to local press. Credit: Israel Defense Forces via Storyful
