The former magician’s assistant accidentally let slip on her radio programme who had been knocked out hours before the results show aired on Sunday night.
During an awkward on-air blunder Debbie revealed that Reverend Richard Coles was the second celebrity to be eliminated from the competition.
And she knew this of course because Strictly’s results are always being recorded on Saturday night but aired on Sunday.
Speaking on her BBC Berkshire show at 9am yesterday morning, Debbie said that she was “very sad” to see the Reverend go.
To make things even more awkward, after realising her mistake Debbie panicked and made up a bizarre story in an attempt to cover up her mishap.
She continued: “He fell over at one point and had to be treated and everything else, so now we’re waiting to see what’s going to happen in the results show tonight.”
However, fans saw that Richard and his professional dance partner Dianne Buswell did get eliminated after landing in the dance-off alongside Simon Rimmer and Karen Clifton.
Speaking to Tess after his elimination, Richard said: “It’s been a joy. Every minute of it I’ve enjoyed, even when Dianne was hissing through her teeth ‘feet, frame, feet, frame’, it’s been completely joyous.
“It has just been a really really wonderful experience. And also it’s really important that none of this would have happened if it wasn’t for the fantastic crew, wardrobe, hair and make-up, production, the fantastic band and the judges too.”
Debbie has not publicly commented on her blunder and Yahoo Celeb UK have contacted Strictly’s rep for comment.
