Sometimes, all you need is a quick and easy dinner after a long day at work. It's even better if you can pop something in the air fryer while you get on with other tasks around the house.

This particular recipe fits the bill perfectly and makes a healthy addition to any meal. Philips, the creators of the air fryer, have offered their expert advice on how to cook your favourite foods in a healthier way.

From adding a kick to your chicken wings to getting the perfect crunch on your veggie fries, Philips Airfryer Chef Martin has shared his top tips for achieving that crispy, fried texture without the oil, reports the Express.

He says: "Eating healthily doesn't have to be dull. You can still enjoy your favourite foods by cooking at home and choosing fresh ingredients instead of ordering takeaways.

"One of the best things about an air fryer is that you can create delicious food without having to deep fry anything."

He explained that you can still get that mouth-watering crispy texture of fries by using sweet potatoes or other root vegetables like carrots or parsnips as a healthier alternative. Don't forget to add your favourite spices - try Cajun seasoning for a bit of a kick.

The preparation will only take you 20 minutes, with a total cooking time of 17 minutes. The dish also serves four people, making it ideal for families.

Here's how to make a crispy sweet potato recipe:

Ingredients:

750g of sweet potatoes.

Two tbsp of cornstarch.

Three tbsp of canola oil.

120g of Greek yoghurt.

Two pinches of curry powder.

Two pinches of salt.

Method:

Begin by peeling and washing the sweet potatoes. Slice them into fries approximately 1cm thick.

Submerge the cut potatoes in cold water for a minimum of 30 minutes to help eliminate excess starch.

After soaking, drain the sweet potato fries thoroughly. It's crucial to pat them dry completely before cooking to achieve maximum crispiness.

Transfer them into a bowl.

Following this, combine the cornstarch with canola oil and add it to the bowl containing the sweet potato fries. Stir well to ensure the fries are evenly coated with the starch mixture.

Place the coated fries in a single layer in the Airfryer basket and insert into the air fryer. Set the device at 160 degrees for 10 minutes.

Open the air fryer basket and give the fries a good shake. Then reset the device at 180 degrees for seven minutes.

While waiting, prepare the dip by blending the Greek yoghurt, curry powder and salt. Once the air frying is complete, serve the crispy sweet potato fries with the curry yoghurt dip on the side.
