Demon Slayer spin-off gets exciting update
Demon Slayer fans can enjoy a break from all the drama with a new lighthearted spin-off.
New series Junior High and High School!! Kimetsu Academy Story has been added to the Crunchyroll catalogue following its Japanese debut in 2020 (via Collider).
Inspired from a collection of short stories, the spin-off sees the anime's characters being transported to another universe. Transformed into high school students, they will need to follow the academy rules and interact with others.

Kimetsu Academy Story is very different in tone from the main anime. In this universe, protagonist Tanjiro and other characters all attend the same school and their routine revolves around completing everyday tasks and abiding by rules such as dyeing their hair black and dressing appropriately for class.
Fret not as there will still be some demon slaying, albeit in the safe setting of an academy for students – and the themes will be far less grim.
Alongside Tanjiro, the characters featured in Kimetsu Academy Story include Giyu, Inosuke, Zenitsu, and Nezuko, as well as Kanao, Susamaru, Yahaba, Aoi, Kiyo and more.

News of the spin-off precedes the debut of Demon Slayer season 3, set to be released this April.
After season 2 wrapped in May 2022, fans have been eager to find out what Tanjiro, his sister Nezuko and the rest of the gang would be up to next. This upcoming third instalment is set to adapt the original manga's ninth arc, the Swordsmith Village arc.
The third season will kick off with a one-hour special instead of the usual 22-minute runtime.
Junior High and High School!! Kimetsu Academy Story is available to watch on Crunchyroll.
Demon Slayer is streaming on Crunchyroll and Netflix, with season 3 premiering in April this year.
