Essex TV presenter Denise Van Outen has been spotted filming a new show in the county. The 50-year-old presenter, from Basildon, has been seen with her Big Breakfast co-star Johnny Vaughan out and about on Mersea Island.

In updates and pictures shared on her Instagram page, Denise and Johnny were filming on location on the island before stopping off at one of its famous colourful beach huts. The duo were presenters of the Big Breakfast from 1997 to 2001. Johnny Vaughan currently presents the Radio X drivetime show and The Kickabout weekly.

The show was an easy-going breakfast entertainment and game show which first began broadcasting on Channel 4 from 1992 to 2002. It was broadcast live from a real house - a lock-keepers cottage - with the show being more informal and youth-focused compared to other morning breakfast shows on other channels.

Last month, Denise and Johnny were back filming together on Celebrity Gogglebox. On her Instagram page, Denise tagged Johnny Vaughan and posted pictures of Mersea including the beach huts and of the pair walking on the beach with cameras rolling in the background.

It is not clear what show the pair are filming, but Denise is a regular visitor to the island enjoying the holiday park, beach and beach huts. In 2022 she took a full bank holiday weekend trip for her daughter's birthday. In the same weekend Denise made reference to the island's Fen Farm and praised Epping's Funky Monk restaurant.

Denise penned in photo captions: 'Football & Filming with @johnny_vaughan66.' They appeared to be travelling around a remote location in a yellow campervan for the new show.

The pair were seen making dinner together and enjoying some wine before sharing shots of the cameramen getting to work. The project was teased back in January this year as they shared a smiling snap and wrote: 'Writing and planning @vanouten_denise @johnny_vaughan66 'To be continued'.

Denise also shared a series of throwback snaps of her and Johnny much to the delight of fans as they headed to the comments to share their joy that the pair have reunited. One said: 'The dream team!' while another suggested: 'Could this be the replacement for Steph's Packed Lunch?!'
