Deputy Injured in Head-On Collision With DUI Suspect
A routine call regarding a suspected drunk driver escalated into a dramatic collision in Virginia on December 1, leaving a senior deputy injured and a suspect in custody.
The Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office said it got a report of a possible intoxicated driver in the vicinity of Orange Plank Road.
Senior Deputy Tibor Kreiter was patrolling the area when the alleged suspect’s vehicle veered into his lane, resulting in a head-on collision. Kreiter sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.
The sheriff’s office said John Anthony Fields, a 57-year-old resident of Spotsylvania, was arrested, and was facing charges of driving under the influence, reckless driving, and failure to maintain the right side of the highway. Credit: Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office via Storyful
