Deputy's Dashcam Shows Extreme Weather in New Mexico

Footage from the Mora County Sheriff’s Office in New Mexico shows the intense conditions faced locally on the night of Wednesday, February 22, as powerful winds caused damage in the state.

On Tuesday, the National Weather Service (NWS) had warned of dangerous winds capable of “flipping semi’s and RVs, lofting outdoor patio furniture, trampolines and other lightweight items as well as toppling trees and power lines.”

On Thursday morning, the NWS said winds would be “calm today compared to yesterday” but would remain strong along the central mountain chain and adjacent highlands. Credit: Mora County Sheriff’s Office via Storyful
