Destiny Udogie to miss the rest of Tottenham's season after injury announcement
Tottenham left-back Destiny Udogie has confirmed he will miss the rest of the 2023/24 Premier League season through injury. Taking to his Instagram account on Saturday evening, the Italian international uploaded photos of himself on a hospital bed and wrote a message to Spurs fans after his campaign was brought to an early end.
"The plans of the heart belong to man, but the answer of the tongue is from the Lord," he wrote. "An injury brings my season to an early end. It doesn't take away from how grateful I am to every person that has supported me this year."
Udogie has become a key part of Ange Postecoglou's Spurs side since linking up with the first team for the first time after returning from his loan spell with Italian side Udinese. In his 30 games in all competitions for Tottenham this term, the 21-year-old has contributed with two goals and three assists.
The news of Udogie's season-ending injury will come as a huge blow to Postecoglou and Tottenham, especially with the team in a battle with Aston Villa to secure a top-four finish. Arsenal are Spurs' next opponents, with the final North London Derby of the season taking place at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday, April 28.

Udogie's injury presents Postecoglou with a decision to make at left-back next weekend when the Gunners make the short trip across north London. Ben Davies could very well come back into the team in his usual position, with Emerson Royal another option to start on the left having playing in the position on a handful of occasions this season.
Whoever replaces Udogie in the team will get a decent run in the side before the season draws to a close. Following the Arsenal showdown, Spurs take on Chelsea, Liverpool, Burnley, Man City and Sheffield United before facing Newcastle United in a post-season friendly in Melbourne, Australia.
