Destruction in Greensboro, Alabama, Following Deadly Storms

Severe, tornado-packing storms killed at least seven people in Alabama on January 12.

Gov Kay Ivey declared a state of emergency for some of the worst-hit counties, including Autauga, Chambers, Coosa, Dallas, Elmore and Tallapoosa.

This footage from journalist Kyra Purvis shows the destruction in Greensboro on Thursday evening, with debris littering the roadside off Highway 25.

The National Wweather Service said it was tracking reports of tornadoes and surveying damage across the region on Thursday evening.
