Devon County Show 2024: Tickets, opening times, what's on and how to get there

The Devon County Show is set to make a triumphant return this weekend. The show promises a fun-filled day for the whole family.

Scheduled to run from Thursday, May 16, the show offers a variety of attractions including animals, tractors, food, music, dog shows, scurry racing, funfairs, crafts, gardens and shopping.

Given the popularity of the event, visitors should anticipate heavier traffic than usual. To assist with your planning, we've compiled some key details about the show, as .reports Devon Live.

Devon County Show Ticket prices.

Adult early bird: Advance (ends May 15) £23. On the day: £26,

Child (five to 16 years) Advance is £8 and on the day is £9.

Over 60s Advance ticket £21 and on the day it costs £24.

On Saturday two children up to the age of 16 can be admitted free of charge per full paying adult. Additional children chargeable at standard pricing.

Disabled person pays the relevant prices as listed above for an Adult, Over 60 or child.

Carer price is £7.50. Carer tickets can only be purchased at the same time as a full priced ticket.

The show runs from Thursday, May 16, until Saturday, May 18.

Gates Open: Thursday and Friday 7.30am 6.30pm. Saturday 7.30am 6.00pm.

Tradestands Open from 9am every day.

What's on at the Devon County Show.

BANDSTAND and PICNIC AREA (Ave K).

The daily programme, provided by Devon County Council and Various Artists, kicks off at 10.00am.

The Phil Greed Arena - Country Life Area Programme begins at 9.30am and will feature Bicton School of Equine, Devon and Cornwall Police Dogs, Game Goer Gun Dog Display, Heavy Horse in Show Harness Class (Sat), and Meirion Owen and Sheepdog Displays.

Food and drink exhibitions, including cookery demonstrations (Ave A), start daily from 10am.

The dog show (Rd 9/10) - Farlap Photography, Mole Valley Farmers - judging starts from 9.30am each day. Thursday features Pastoral, Working and Toy breeds, Friday showcases Gundog and Utility breeds, and Saturday highlights Hound and Terrier breeds.

Sheep shearing (Rd 2) - British Wool, George Mudge and Co, Lister Shearing Equipment Ltd, Sandford Orchards Ltd - demonstrations begin from 10:00am on Thursday, with competitions starting from 9:00am on Friday and 8:30am on Saturday.

In the cattle hall, the dairy section runs all day on Thursday, with the beef section from 2.00pm*. On Friday, it's open from 1.00pm* to 2:30pm and 4.30pm to 6.00pm, and on Saturday, it opens from 12 noon.
