Devon man banned from being drunk in a public place across the whole of England and Wales
A Devon man has been hit with a five-year Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) after being convicted of public urination. Gavin Prieto, 47, from Barnstaple was handed the order by Barnstaple Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, April 30, following an application by local neighbourhood officers.
The CBO prohibits Prieto from causing anti-social harassment, alarm or distress to anyone within England and Wales, including intimidating or threatening behaviour.
He is also banned from being drunk or under the influence of any illegal substance in public, possessing an open container of alcohol in public unless on licensed premises, and urinating or defecating in public.

The order comes after Prieto was convicted of outraging public decency for urinating in public on November 25, 2023. He admitted the charge and was given a nine-month community order at Exeter Magistrates' Court on February 19.
Police Sergeant Chris Mannell, leader of the Barnstaple Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: "We have secured this order after acting on concerns received from our community.
"The comprehensive conditions will allow local police to effectively manage this individual's behaviour in public. We would encourage anyone who witnesses anti-social behaviour in their community to report it to their local police."
The CBO prohibits Prieto from:
Acting in a manner which may cause or is likely to cause an anti-social harassment, alarm or distress to any person within England and Wales. This includes behaviour which is intimidating or threatening to any person;
Being drunk or under the influence of alcohol or any illegal substance in a public place;
Being in possession of an open container of alcohol in a public place saved for licensed premises;
Urinating or defecating in any public place.
