Dick and Angel Strawbridge have revealed they're taking a break from their podcast to enjoy a summer holiday with their kids.

In the latest episode of their podcast, the couple looked back on family activities, including their unique take on the Olympics. They also discussed their son Arthur's primary school journey ending, an event that left Angel emotional.

Recalling fond memories with their kids, The Vintage Patisserie founder mentioned a favourite moment that Dick unfortunately missed due to his work commitments. He humorously responded: "When I worked for a living, those olden days because now I do nothing. It's not rock and roll here."

As they continued reminiscing, she added: "We've had some real laughs, it's been good."

Angel described it as "an end of an era" for the family and said they would be taking a well-deserved break after a busy season. On the Dick and Angel's Chat... Eau podcast, she told listeners: "This is the end of an era and the next time we chat to you we're gonna have had our boom [in bookings], and we're also going to have had our little summer holiday.", reports the Express.

She added: "We're off to Italy virtually the next day and then we're going to have a little break this summer."

But she reassured fans they wouldn't be away for long, saying: "We will be back early September and we will let you know.

"So, after this podcast, there'll be one more before we really put our feet up and enjoy our summer."

During their penultimate episode, they wrapped up the show by answering questions from fans eager to know more about the wedding guests they cater for. One fan asked if they ever had to deal with "mischievous" or drunk guests, to which Angel responded: "We are in event season at the moment.

"I've got to say out of all the events we've ever done, we must've done 50 weddings, we have never particularly had anyone who has been mischievous."

Dick added his thoughts: "There are people having a good time, sometimes weddings can be a sort of tinder box of emotions. Actually, our weddings, the people we've had here, are just people enjoying themselves.

"We've had some people who have had a nap between the actual meal, the digestives and the dancing, we've lost a groom. "Angel continued: "Has anyone ever had too many gins and tonics? Absolutely.

"That's part of our job isn't it, making sure everyone has a nice little tipple. And giving a lot of people water as well.

"We spend a lot of our time hydrating people," Dick added."

The couple previously gave fans a glimpse into their French fairytale on Escape To The Chateau, which ran for nine series until 2022.

In a past interview with The Belfast Telegraph, Dick detailed their decision to leave the popular show. He said: "We made the decision because the kids are growing older, and all the parallel activity was not sustainable at this level. We are doers and we are never going to stop completely, but we're also protecting them."

Discussing the impact on his children, he continued, "Arthur is starting senior school and the pressure on our little ones is phenomenal. When he goes there, people may have heard that his parents have done stuff on television."

Earlier in May, Angel also addressed rumours about a reported disagreement with one of the cameramen on set. This followed a leaked audio file capturing her raising her voice to the crew member.

Acknowledging the situation, the mum-of-two explained that the individual involved had behaved poorly towards the entire family, leading to an intolerable situation and causing her to "see red" and react.

At the time, the team at Channel 4 did not offer any comment when approached by Express.co.uk for a statement.
