Eastenders fans thought they spotted an Emmerdale crossover in last night's episode (November 16).

And no one could ruddy believe it.

The confusion occurred when Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth, a soap swapper herself of course) was planning on hightailing it out of Walford after the bombshell dropped that James Wilmott-Brown – the man who raped her in the '80s – is Luke Browning's father.

However, Ben then convinced her to come back home.

And while she was doing that, fans couldn't help but spot two very familiar faces lurking in the background, as it appeared that Emmerdale's Zak and Lisa Dingle (Steve Halliwell and Jane Cox) were standing by R&R.

Zak's doppelganger even had a white beard and his staple flat cap, and soon enough, fans of both soaps were getting rather excited indeed about the possibility of a soap crossover.

"Thought it was Mr and Mrs Dingle outside the club," said one viewer.

But, alas, it wasn't.

Eastenders airs Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays on BBC One. Emmerdale airs weekdays on ITV.
