Diogo Jota insists Benfica's Joao Neves has the 'quality and mindset to go really far' in his career as he continues to be linked with a big-money move to the Premier League.

The 19-year-old has been named in Portugal's 26-man squad for this summer's European Championship finals in Germany. Portugal will face Turkey, Georgia and the Czech Republic in Group F. In addition to Cristiano Ronaldo, Rafel Leao and Jota, plenty of eyes will follow Neves this summer after a stellar breakthrough campaign at Benfica in which he made 55 appearances across all competitions.

In January, the midfielder - who is reported to have a release clause over £100m - was linked with a move to Manchester United before Benfica quickly downplayed such rumours.

More recently, Neves has been linked with a move to Anfield as the Reds are yet to replace defensive midfielder Fabinho, who joined Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad last summer.

Regardless of where Neves ends up, though, Jota has tipped the 19-year-old for a bright future within the game when asked by Goal, who is a young player everyone should watch out for at Euro 2024. He said: "Joao Neves has the quality and the mindset to go really far."

Last August, Neves penned a new deal with Benfica that will run until June 2028.
