Former Coventry City and Manchester United star Dion Dublin is expecting the FA Cup semi-final between two of his former clubs to “go all the way”.

Dublin joined the Sky Blues from United in 1994 after an injury-hit spell at Old Trafford, and went on to make 145 appearances before leaving for AstonVilla.

And looking ahead to today’s Wembley showpiece (3.30pm kick-off), the footballer turned pundit found it impossible to separate the rival teams.

Speaking to BoyleSports, who offer the latest EFL betting, Dublin said: "I expect extra time and potentially penalties. I just think it'll go all the way. I don't think it's going to be an easy win at all, I think it will be 2-2.

“I’d like to see that too because Coventry fans deserve a great day out and it’s going to be an amazing day. And even if Coventry do get beaten, I think the fans are happy with what they're watching.

"They’re working-class fans in Coventry, working-class families who work Monday to Friday and want to see their team play well at the weekend, and they’re seeing really good stuff at the moment.

“But I don't think there'll be a load of fear going into this game because they know in Ellis Simms they’ve got somebody in really good form.”

Simms, the Coventry striker, will have special incentive to down United after Manchester City edged out Chelsea yesterday to reach the FA Cup final on May 25.

The 23-year-old summer recruit from Everton played youth football for City before going to Goodison Park. He has 13 goals so far this season, including five in five FA Cup appearances.
